Download and extract the starter. Node.js 22+ is the only prerequisite. No npm install, repository, API key or account is needed.

OWP_WEATHER_COMPLETEThe owner and two agents have independent identities. The weather agent first waits for context. The owner authorizes a fictional coarse location; the agent receives derived weather, submits an encrypted answer, and competes for selection. The owner decrypts the selected answer.
Fixture location and weather. Example Harbor is 18 °C and cloudy; Example Ridge is 9 °C and rainy. These are invented test records. No real location, weather service or payment is connected.

Edit async work(job, context) in weather-agent.mjs. The context.weather() method requests job-scoped access, checks owner consent, and retrieves derived weather through the encrypted context channel. Your worker does not need coordinates, a Vault database or provider credentials.

The adapter awaits your worker, enforces the requested format and size, encrypts weather submissions, and checks payment status. Plain text and Markdown are valid results; JSON weather jobs use WeatherFacts. The original agent.mjs handles writing/brief and GardenFacts. These are the two supported capabilities.

Having a location is not permission to use it.
The job declares location.current as a dependency, with a private result audience. It does not place location in the public input or subscription. A trusted Operanda fixture adapter holds the selected location and authorizes a weather-only projection for the assigned agent.

The fixture controls model required, granted, denied or revoked consent; missing or stale location; and provider outage. A new job starts with no approved context.
Missing context moves work to WAITING_CONTEXT. After the owner resolves it, retry the same assignment with executeMatch(). The SDK rechecks authorization; it never guesses a city. Waiting still counts against capacity and the two-minute deadline. A grant lasts at most 60 seconds and pins the current context revision. A policy change invalidates it.
The SDK encrypts context requests, weather data and answer content with HPKE and verifies signed adapter responses. The coordinator sees IDs, coarse status, scores and simulated payment metadata. It never decrypts weather content. The trusted fixture adapter runs in the same local process; this does not establish third-party process isolation or real Vault integration. One job. Two independent candidates.

- Declare which jobs fit
Subscribe by capability, accepted media types, minimum test-credit reward and maximum in-flight work. Pin a round for an isolated test, or use a null round ID to match current and future jobs.
- Poll for matches
Poll at most once per second. Empty results mean no eligible slot is available. Matching fills at most two candidate slots in polling order. Each identity receives at most one assignment per round.
- Run once per assignment
Track handled match IDs. Await your agent, then submit its result. A known worker failure becomes FAILED; a submission with an uncertain outcome must be inspected before retrying work.
- Observe the final outcome
Poll matches until SELECTED, NOT_SELECTED, FAILED or EXPIRED. Read the match’s payment status and ordered events. Unsubscribing stops future matches while existing work keeps its deadline.

Completed work must be selected.
Writing jobs award one point for each fact: “Elm Garden”, “Saturday”, and “planting workshop”, ignoring case. Highest score wins; ties go to the first accepted submission. At least one point is required. For weather, the trusted context adapter checks the area, temperature and condition against the exact observation issued to that agent. Only its score and output ID reach the coordinator. Both are transparent fixture rules, not production quality evaluation.
When selection happens
- Both candidates have submitted or failed, or the 120-second deadline passes.
- Deadline closure runs on the next request from an enrolled session.
- If only one candidate submits, it waits until the deadline.
- If nobody qualifies, nobody receives credits.
What the result means
- SELECTED → SIMULATED_PAID: 25 test credits and one receipt.
- NOT_SELECTED, FAILED or EXPIRED → NOT_PAYABLE: zero credits.
- SUBMITTED → PENDING_SELECTION: no credits yet.
- Repeated requests never duplicate the credit receipt.
Test credits cannot be redeemed. No money moves, and there are no wallets, fees or withdrawals. You cover your local compute; unselected work is not reimbursed. Production selection and compensation policies remain open in the implementation status.

All bodies and responses use profile: "owp-market-local/0.2". Send UTF-8 JSON with Content-Type: application/json. Unknown fields reject. These endpoints belong to the downloaded local server, not this documentation host.

Signed requests. Owned assignments.
The client adapter creates an in-memory Ed25519 identity and signs requests. Only the owner of an assignment can submit or report failure. Agents cannot choose winners or set payment state. The coordinator receives public keys, public writing results and encrypted weather traffic; it never runs agent code or decrypts weather content.
For another language, send OWP-Profile, OWP-Instance-Id, OWP-Agent-Id, OWP-Session-Id, OWP-Timestamp, OWP-Request-Id and OWP-Signature. Sign these exact nine UTF-8 lines with Ed25519, LF separators and no trailing LF:

<lowercase SHA-256 hex of exact body bytes>GET hashes zero bytes. Public keys use 44-byte SPKI DER encoded as unpadded base64url; agent IDs derive from its SHA-256. Use the public signing vector and complete protocol for header encodings and validation order.
This profile assumes a trusted local machine: literal loopback HTTP, no redirects or browser origins, public discovery is a local trust bootstrap. Context replies are signed by the pinned adapter and encrypted to the caller. No real Vault inputs, remote deployment or real payments are supported.
Retry the request, not the work.
Keep the same method, path, body bytes and request ID after a lost response. Refresh the timestamp and signature. The SDK makes at most three attempts. If it reports OUTCOME_UNKNOWN, inspect matches and events before proceeding. Successful POST receipts are historical; use fresh matches for the final outcome.

Malformed results stay unsubmitted so a direct API client can correct and resubmit. The higher-level executeMatch() helper reports known worker failures as FAILED, and expected context problems as WAITING_CONTEXT. Neither path reports a failure after an uncertain submission.
Sessions last one hour; rounds last two minutes. A server holds up to 64 identities, 32 rounds and 256 mutation receipts per identity. Restart intentionally when capacity is reached. Restart clears all state and changes the instance ID; old requests return INSTANCE_CHANGED. No automatic re-registration or durable recovery is claimed.
